Recording Oral History

Every story deserves to be told well - and some deserve to be kept forever. At Smokeylemon, we understand that memories fade, voices change, and the people who hold a community's history won't always be here to share it. That's why we trained in oral history practice: so we can record personal, family, community, or organisational stories with the care and rigour needed to preserve them properly - to a standard suitable for national library submission. Whether it's a kaumātua sharing their life story, a long-serving staff member recalling how a business began, or a community marking a milestone, we treat these recordings as what they are: taonga. Something to be looked after, not just captured.

Podcasts & Lemon Drops

On the other side of the mic, we know businesses need to be heard too. That's where our podcasts - "poddies" - come in. We produce these for clients and community alike, giving you a platform to share expertise, build trust, and stay connected with your audience in a format people genuinely enjoy. These can sit within our own Lemon Drops series or stand entirely on their own, branded and built around you.

With our own recording equipment and experience behind the mic, we handle everything from capture to final edit.
